Disable Defender

Steps to disable Windows Defender and security telemetry.

Required: Windows Defender and Smart App Control must be completely disabled for driver mapping.

Steps to Disable Defender:

  1. Open Windows Security -> Virus & threat protection settings -> Manage settings.
  2. Turn off Real-time protection, Cloud-delivered protection, Automatic sample submission, and Tamper Protection.
  3. Turn off Smart App Control under Device Security.
  4. Disable Core Isolation / Memory Integrity under Device Security.
  5. Download and run dControl (Defender Control) to disable Defender permanently.
