Disable Defender

Steps to disable Windows Defender and security telemetry.

Required: Windows Defender and Smart App Control must be completely disabled for kernel driver mapping.

Disable Windows Defender Manually

  1. Select Start and type "Windows Security".
  2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
  3. Switch Real-time protection, Cloud-delivered protection, and Tamper Protection to Off.

Disable Core Isolation

  1. Select Start and type "Device Security".
  2. Click Core isolation details.
  3. Switch Memory integrity to Off.

Disable Windows Defender with dControl

Download and run dControl (Defender Control) to disable Defender permanently.
